UK weather: Storm Atiyah set to batter Britain this weekend

Yellow "danger to life" weather warnings have been issued for parts of England and Wales as Storm Atiyah heads towards the UK.
Much of Britain will experience gale force winds over the weekend.
Forecasters have said gusts of 50-60mph are expected inland, with coastal areas reaching up to 70mph.
An area of low pressure, named Storm Atiyah will move from east to west over the latter part of the weekend and into Monday morning.
A yellow weather warning for wind comes into force at 3pm on Sunday and runs through to 9am on Monday.
Met Office Deputy Chief Meteorologist Tony Wardle said: “The UK is in for an unsettled period of weather with some very strong winds, especially along the west coast.
"Gusts of 50-60 mph are expected quite widely inland, with up to 70mph gusts around some coastal locations.
He continued: “As well as strong winds there will be large coastal waves in the south west, so bare this in mind before heading out in these regions.
"Monday will be a much-improved day with brighter and drier conditions moving in from the west before another period of wet and windy weather on Tuesday.”

The strong winds are also going to impact western parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland, with gusts of up to 57mph overnight.
On Monday morning, winds are expected to reach 55mph.
Storm Atiyah is the first named storm of the season by the Irish meteorological service Met Éireann, which started in September.
It is the fifth year that the Met Office and Met Eireann have run the Name our Storms campaign, which aims to raise awareness of the impact of severe weather before it hits.
