Black Cab Driver Gives Boris A Rough Ride

Johnny, a black cab driver in Brixton, gave Mayor Boris Johnson a roasting over minicabs and services like Uber.
"I understand the rage of taxi driver at what has happened to the market," Mr Johnson told the LBC caller. "They are dealing with the impact of a very powerful force which is consumer choice and preference."
"What are we trying to do is to help your trade by introducing new measures to insist that minicab drivers know English, that they have a basic understanding of the geography of the city and we want to bring a restriction of the number of minicabs."
Johnny responded: "Sadly the Mayor refuses to answer a direct question."
That prompted the Mayor to shoot back: "Rubbish! I've just answered you directly! You're talking through the back of your neck, I'm sorry."
Nick then pressed Mr Johnson on how we got to a situation where minicab drivers can't speak English. Watch the Mayor's response to that - and his exchange with Johnny - above.
