Heartbreaking Tale Of When A Soldier Leaves Army
28 August 2016, 18:16 | Updated: 6 September 2016, 12:26
This is the heartbreaking story of a former soldier who ended up homeless and almost died because he received no support after leaving the army.
Stig Abell was asking why military charities even need to exist - why don't we treat our military personnel better.
He got a call from Cody, who was discharged from the army with mental health issues.
He ended up homeless and with nowhere to go upon leaving and wasn't even allowed in a shelter because he didn't have an alcohol or drug problem.
Cody admitted he even considered suicide before a military charity helped him.
Listen to his powerful story above.
