After Kristin Scott Thomas slagged off British women as "vulgar", this hilarious caller wanted to defend our nation's females.
Alistair in Rotherham called Shelagh Fogarty, who was talking about the British-born actress. The English Patient star spoke out about the fake tans and miniskirts that she says women here wear too often.
But while Alistair agrees that French women might be more chic, he also explained why the ladies of Yorkshire are better than those found in the fashionable cafés of Paris.
"British women are not as arrogant, they're not as snobby.
"They've got the most important thing of all - personality and a good sense of humour. I don't think anybody else in the world can rival the British sense of humour.
"And I'd much rather a woman with a pint in her hand than a half!"
