How Dangerous Is Your Area For Police Officers?
2 September 2019, 07:11 | Updated: 2 September 2019, 07:19
Just how dangerous is the area that you live for police officers. LBC has commissioned these maps to investigate the areas where cops are most at risk.
As part of Nick Ferrari's Time for Taser campaign, LBC has investigated the most recent figures for the number of incidents of police officers being assaulted for each police force in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We then crunched the data to show the most dangerous places to be in the police - and which use tasers the most.
POLICE ASSAULTS
How many times has a police officer been assaulted in each region in 2018/19? Find your local area in the map below.
Tbe map shows that police are most at risk in major cities, with London and Leeds showing the highest number of assaults on officers in the last 12 months.
In the capital, almost 5,000 officers were assaulted, with 47% of those causing injury.
TASER USE
Does that map match the one below, which shows the number of times tasers are used? Are they used in order to protect police officers?
