Nick Rages At Men-Only Swimming For Muslims

4 August 2016, 14:27 | Updated: 1 September 2016, 14:31

A Luton swimming pool is running segregated sessions for men and women in order to appease some Muslims - Nick is absolutely furious at the idea.

Women are banned from sessions that are aimed at Muslim men using the Inspire Sports Village pool. During those sessions, women aren't allowed in the Olympic-sized pool, being forced to use the smaller community pool.

Nick got properly wound up by this on his LBC show this morning, even banging the desk as he laid out why he feels it's so wrong.

"It's not because it's Muslims getting their way. It's not that that does it for me, at all.

"It's that we don't live like this in the West!"

He continued: "You come to this country, if you're born in this country, if you want to continue to practice your faith, fantastic.

"Mosques? Absolutely. Not a problem, not a problem.

"But we are in the West, so we're all going to swim together. If you have a problem with that, you need to look at whether you're in the right spot.

"Segregation is wrong under any circumstances.

"Apply that to anything else. We're going to have Welsh-only swimming. We're going to have black and mixed-race only swimming. We're going to have Labour-voting only swimming.

"It's absurd!"

Today's RAJAR results show that Nick has reached his highest ever weekly audience in London. Join him weekdays 7am-10am.
