Actor Maureen Lipman believes that Jeremy Corbyn has been enjoying the accusations of anti-semitism as it draws attention away from other people.
Jeremy Corbyn has been "enjoying" the accusations of anti-semitism within his party, says Maureen Lipman.
The actor called into Maajid Nawaz's show to say that she thought the Labour Party row was drawing attention away from other people.
She said: "My point is that Corbyn's quite enjoying this summer of accusations of anti-semitism."
"He doesn't really have to think about, or opinionate, about anything else that's bothering other people."
"He doesn't have to give any opinions, because he's just got anti-semitism to worry about," she said.
Maajid asked the actor whether she agreed with him, that the party can now be considered institutionally racist.
She said: "I don't know about beyond repair, I'd be sad to think that.
"But yes, we're desperate for a centre party."
