O'Brien: UK Faces Ruin - And Brexiteers Don't Care

James O'Brien says Brexiteers are in denial about the financial crisis facing Britain - despite the pound collapsing to multi year lows.
Talking on his LBC James said that Brexiteers are in denial about the extent of the crisis as the pound looks set to be one of the world’s worst performing currencies.
“I haven't got the energy for people who've really not got any grasp at all of what's going on on the international economic scene to ring up and try to claim that Britain isn't in the doldrums or isn't facing some very very serious problems.”
“I literally haven't got the energy to talk to people who are just closing their eyes crossing their fingers and saying I believe in fairies, I believe in fairies, I believe in Brexit.”
“We are now only, only above the Argentine peso as the worst performing currency on the planet in 2016. We have not performed so badly against the dollar since 1985, people clinging as if it were a life raft to the suggestion that there's been some sort of glitch shown the Asian markets, there hasn't been a glitch these are algorithms and programs that are written to respond to news reports coming out of our country.”
“The news reports coming out of our country have prompted people to bail to bail on the pound on scales that haven't been seen in generations. But hey you hang in there at least we got our country back.”
