James O'Brien's Take On Chilcot Is A Must-Watch

James O'Brien's summary of the "damning" Chilcot Report is essential viewing.
Lord Chilcot released his report after almost seven years and there were claims by protesters that it would be a whitewash. But after listening to Chilcot's speech, James says that is certainly not the case.
Speaking on his LBC show, James said: "All those placards claiming whitewash are being slowly lowered across the capital city.
"He has, to my untutored eye, pretty much dismantled every single rationale and justification for the invasion of Iraq.
"And he has done so in vocabulary utterly devoid of hyperbole and in a tone almost funereal. Calm, measured, somewhat, you could argue, statesmanlike.
"'I will be with you whatever' seems to be the clincher, doesn't it? Months before the invasion was undertaken, wrote Blair to Bush 'I will be with you whatever'.
"You can fill in the gaps yourself as to what might have followed that 'whatever'. Whatever the truth turns out to be? Whatever the reasons we finally settle upon to tell to the public? I will be with you whatever. Wow."
