James O'Brien: Why Fabric's Closure Matters

'Night clubs changed my life.' When Fabric closed in September, James O'Brien launched into this brilliant explanation of why we should all care - now it's been confirmed the club is reopening, this is more of a must-watch than ever.
James reflected on what club culture means for young people - and for him personally - when it was first confirmed that the club was to close.
Today it's been announced that Fabric is reopening after the club owners reached an agreement with Islington Council.
"I’m speaking you as someone with an abiding fondness for club culture," he said, reminiscing about his time in clubs in the late 1980s. But he says that this affair impacted on more than just dance music fans.
"You're looking at a story that is important to anybody who doesn’t think that politicians, whether local or national, should be able to ride roughshod over the electorate with impunity.”
