James O'Brien: Prison Better Than Death Penalty For Terrorists

After yesterday’s Paris attack, James explains why life in prison is fitting for Islamist terrorists.
The 39-year-old man who shot dead one policeman, before being shot dead himself, in Paris is reported as having links to Islamic radicals.
Often after such incidents, the question is asked; how people who attempt to carry out attacks, or do so and survive, should be dealt with?
“I’m wondering if a life sentence is a crueller punishment than the death penalty.” James said.
“This man in Paris knew he was going to die. As soon as you open fire on a police officer in a country where police routinely carry guns, you’re dead.
“These guys go out ready to die, and that makes me wonder… whether or not actually life imprisonment with no prospect of release is worse than the death penalty."
