WATCH: Passionate Iain Takes On Doctor Over Strike
23 March 2016, 18:28 | Updated: 25 August 2016, 16:05
This doctor insists patients won't be affected by next month's strikes, but Iain Dale doesn't buy that at all.
Dr Hamed Khan, a senior doctor who backs the strike, claimed to Iain that patients in A & E wouldn't be impacted by the action.
Iain couldn't let that one past him: "If junior doctors go on strike, do not please insult our intelligence by saying there will be no effect on A and E services."
Dr Khan fired back: "You're insulting the intelligence of the public by suggesting that senior doctors cannot provide the same level of cover as junior doctors.
"That's simply, completely, categorically incorrect!"
Iain continued to butt heads with the doctor, even as Dr Khan maintained that patients would not suffer when doctors walk out on 26th-28th April.
They're staging a full withdrawal of labour for the first time in the history of the NHS - raising fears that patients will be put in "harm's way".
That's what Iain is worried about and you can watch his clash with Dr Khan above. Fortunately afterwards, they remained friends:
I had a #very lively discussion with @IainDale on @LBC about the #JuniorDoctorsStrike - Iain, could you post a link?
