Alastair Campbell Takes Aim At Corbyn

Former Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell says the party are "heading off a cliff" if they don't get rid of Jeremy Corbyn now.
Campbell, who made clear that he's kept his counsel since Corbyn became Labour leader, let rip on Iain Dale's show on LBC this evening. It came after Corbyn lost a no confidence motion, with 172 Labour MPs voting against him.
Just 40 voted in favour of Corbyn and Campbell said it was time for him to go.
"Even many of his supporters now, including those who joined the party to make him leader, they're realising this is catastrophe.
"We are heading off a cliff unless we replace Jeremy Corbyn...These are such volatile times that we might be in trouble anyway."
Campbell continued: "Jeremy Campbell is not the man to bring [lost Labour voters] back, he is not the man to unite Labour MPs, let's be absolutely clear."
"He's got to go. It's as simple as that."
Next in Campbell's sights were Corbyn's supporters: "There's always been a section of the Labour Party that cares much less about winning elections as it does about holding sway in the Labour Party.
"He is now the leader of that sect."
