Ukip Leadership Candidate: 'I'd Execute All Paedophiles'

John Rees-Evans wants to be Ukip leader and also told LBC that he wants to execute all paedophiles - a big claim that he then had to clarify.
Rees-Evans joined Paul Nuttall, Suzanne Evans and Peter Whittle in the LBC studio for the Ukip Leadership debate, chaired by Iain Dale.
“I’d think they’d need to have some pretty strict criteria on the burden of evidence but provided that was dealt with but, yeah, I would vote for the death penalty for child killers and paedophiles.”
Iain asked him to clarify; “So you’d execute all paedophiles?”
“Yes,” he replied.
After a short pause Rees-Evans added; “with paedophiles I wouldn’t necessarily say that someone who looked eighteen and was fifteen and half, so in terms of establishment that parameters for that….”
“Someone who is prepubescent, I would have the death penalty for someone who is obviously prepubescent.”
It's a comment that sparked quite some reaction on Twitter:
John Rees-Evans tells @IainDale he would make "proven paedophiles" pay death penalty, then agonises over what exactly counts as paedophilia

#UKIP has this remarkable ability to produce muppets as leadership candidates. John Rees-Evans is the latest to come to the fore...
