John's fantastic suggestion was to not bother building a new Royal Yacht at a cost of millions, but rather to bring back the old one.

He told Iain: "On the mast of the ship I would like to see the Union Jack flying to unite Scotland, England, Northern Ireland.

"But I don't want a brand new flag, I don't want a brand new boat. I want a tattered flag, with bullet holes...because we're battered as a nation but we're still there! We've still got that fighting spirit!"

So powerful was John's patriotism, it caused Iain to do something he's never done before: sing Jerusalem live on air.
