Iain's Beautiful Counter To Woman Who Says Homosexuality Is Hatred
During a discussion about how religion can be reconciled with modern values, one caller illustrates the gulf that exists for some people.
Theresa from Motherwell had very firm, and what many would consider very dated, views on homosexuality, saying anyone involved in it was “on the road to hell”. When Iain politely pointed our that he was one of those homosexuals she believes is on the road to hell she became a little flustered.
“Why do you have to resort to that?” Theresa asked “There’s a hatred there. There’s no love.”
Theresa tried to convince Iain to repent and live a good life and not go down that road. His response was beautiful.
“I didn’t choose to go down that road. I was born the way I am and I don’t regret the way I am because I can’t change the way I am. And even if I could, I wouldn’t.”
Theresa’s view of that;“You wouldn’t? Oh, well that’s just too bad.”
