A senior Turkish diplomat says keeping the country out of the EU is adding to the migrant crisis. Tough, says Iain Dale, you're not ready to join.

In this short and stinging bit of radio, Dale lays out a list of reasons why Turkey isn't fit to join the European Union - despite what Cem Işik says.

"When your country operates like a normal Western democracy, when it stops imprisoning journalists, when it actually stops illegal oil flowing across the border from Syria, then perhaps we might even consider you for EU membership," said Iain.
