A Police Chief Constable has backed an officer under investigation for sticking his middle finger up at a rider, saying they should be focussing on the "thug on a bike" instead.
A video on social media shows an officer in a police van appearing to give a troublesome biker the middle finger.
West Midlands Police branded the behaviour as "unacceptable" and said they would be investigating the officer.
But Chief Constable Dave Thompson tweeted:
please see my reply. I feel the objective should be to find the thug on the bike not the officer. Leave it with me.
