Farage On Trump: "They Thought Brexit Wouldn't Happen."

"They thought Brexit wouldn't happen." Nigel Farage explains why the hordes of newly engaged voters could hold the key to Donald Trump winning the White House.

Talking on his LBC show he said that his experience of Trump rallies was that there are many voters who have never engaged in politics before. Farage pointed out some parallels with this summer’s Brexit vote.

“I did share a platform with him in Mississippi a few weeks ago. I was there to talk about Brexit and possible crossover with the American elections and what struck me meeting the audience afterwards were the sheer numbers of them, that had never voted in their lives.”

“They saw Trump as being the big fight back against an establishment that had got too rich, too powerful and was ignoring their views and to me it's what I've thought, ever since then, that whatever the opinion polls say they may well be wrong.”

“After all they were wrong about Brexit. When it went on the day of that referendum a respected pollster put the Remain side ten points in the lead.”

“What I’m also picking up around the states that tens of millions of people are registering to vote who have never voted before and I'm guessing that quite a few of those maybe on Trump's side.”
