Woman had lip bitten off at Notting Hill Carnival

A woman has been left with “life-changing injuries” after a man bit off part of her top lip at the Notting Hill Carnival.
The victim, who has not been named, was attending the carnival when she was approached by a man she did not know. The man leaned into her, told her “I’m the devil” and proceeded to bite a portion of her top lip off before running away, Scotland Yard said.
The woman then approached police officers and was taken to a west London hospital after the attack at around 6pm on Sunday 25 August.
Surgeons operated on her injuries, which were deemed “life altering”, but she will require further surgery in the future.
Police have now launched an investigation to find the attacker. He is described as a black male with short dark hair and a muscular build.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black t-shirt.
DCI Driss Hayoukane, from the Notting Hill Carnival post investigation unit, stated, “This was a horrific incident on a woman who has suffered life changing injuries requiring extensive surgery.
“The man who did this is clearly a violent and dangerous individual and I am determined that we identify and apprehend him as soon as possible.”
The Notting Hill Carnival took place over the August Bank Holiday weekend, with 353 arrests made across the two days.
