Six held over disappearance of backpacker Amelia Bambridge
29 October 2019, 09:03
Six men have been detained and questioned over the disappearance of backpacker Amelia Bambridge in Cambodia.
People being questioned include bar workers on the popular tourist island, a senior police officer said.
Her father yesterday said that she feared she had been abducted.
Staff at Police Beach, a private venue that stages regular events, found Ms Bambridge's purple rucksack, containing her purse, phone and bank cards, the following morning.
About 150 volunteers and Cambodian police are involved in searches of the shoreline and jungle for the missing 21-year-old.
A police chief told AFP: “We are looking for a body now”
