Police seek man in connection with sexual assaults on London buses
18 November 2019, 11:47
Police have released a new picture of a man who is wanted in connection with a series of sexual assaults on buses in London.
The victims, who are all aged between 23 and 62, were left "very upset and shocked" after being sexually assaulted by touching, according to Roads and Transport Policing's PC Chris Bowman.
He added that "extensive enquiries" had been carried out and appealed for anyone who recognises the individual to come forward.
All the incidents, which date back to July, are said to have happened on bus routes across north and east London, including the 38, 48, 279, 254, 149 and 253.
They all took place from late afternoon, but the majority happened between 7-11pm.
"We clearly need to find whoever is responsible for these assaults, and I would like to thank the women for coming forward to report them," PC Bowman said.
"Although our public transport system is generally safe, this does not diminish the fact that one such offence is one too many.
"Under no circumstances will this offending be tolerated and this linked series is being investigated using as many resources as possible."
:: Anyone who recognises the man in the images, or has related information to share, is asked to call detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing Command via 101 or tweet @MetCC or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
