Police hunt 'road rage' cyclist who ran red light and head-butted pedestrian

Police are hunting a cyclist who head-butted a pedestrian in a shocking road rage attack in London.

City of London police said the victim was walking across the road when a cyclist ran a red light and nearly hit him.

The cyclist then got off his bike and head-butted the victim “in a moment of unexplained rage."

The 57-year-old victim was left needing stitches in a wound above his eye. He also suffered ligament damage to his arm where he fell.

The assault took place on Farringdon Street in central London on August 22 at around 1.45pm.

PC Fisk, from the City of London Police, said: “We are asking the public to help us identify this cyclist, whose needlessly violent actions has left a member of the public with some nasty injuries.

“If anyone has any information about the man who carried out this assault, please contact us. He is described as a white man in his 40s, around 5ft 10, of medium build, with short greying hair.”
