Harry and Meghan: Netflix content boss confirms interest in working with the couple
19 January 2020, 16:21
One of Netflix's top bosses has confirmed his interest in working with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after their deal to quit royal life was announced yesterday.
Speaking at an event in Los Angeles yesterday Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, appeared enthusiastic at the possibility of collaboration between the streaming giant and the couple.
Asked about the possibility of working with Harry and Meghan, Mr Sarandos told the audience: "Who wouldn't be interested? Yes, for sure".
Netflix currently produces The Crown, a popular show about royal life and the reign of the Queen - with season 3 released on the platform in November last year.
It follows the announcement yesterday that the pair reached a deal with the Queen to walk away from the royal family and its responsibilities.
The Duke of Sussex was seen proposing voiceover work for the Duchess to the chief executive of Disney in a leaked video last week.
The couple will ditch their HRH titles and dedicate most of their time to Canada, and have agreed to repay the £2.4m of public money used to refurbish Frogmore Cottage, their UK residence.
Prince Harry, as he will be known until Spring of this year, will also step back from his commitments to the British Armed Forces and will consequently lose his titles as Captain General of Marines, Honorary Air Commandant Royal Air Force Honington and Commodore-in-Chief of Small Ships and Diving.
