Extinction Rebellion climate protesters are set to target City Airport today, as they plan to 'shut down' its operation, causing chaos for travellers

The airport is being targeted by the protest group as it has ambitious plans for expansion.

There was a heavy police presence there early today with officers ensuring only people with boarding passes were allowed inside.

More than 1,000 protesters have now been arrested this week.
