Emergency services rush to Surrey train station after bus mounts parked cars

A person has been taken to hospital after a bus mounted two parked cars in Surrey.
According to witnesses, the empty single-decker bus crashed into a rail replacement service at Lingfield station before hitting the cars.
One Twitter user said it was “gridlock” around the rural station with the fire, ambulance and police services all trying to attend the scene.
Buses have been replacing trains in the area because of a landslip near East Grinstead.

The incident left many rush hour commuters struggling to get home.
A Southern Rail spokesperson told LBC News: “We can confirm that a rail replacement bus collided with other vehicles in the car park at Lingfield station. Emergency services are dealing with the incident.
“Three people were reported to have non-serious injuries and a fourth person has been taken to hospital for further assessment.
“Trains are currently not running as far as Lingfield. We are advising passengers heading for Lingfield, Dormans or East Grinstead to travel to Three Bridges station, from where we are providing buses and taxis to complete their journey.
“We will continue to update information on our website at www.southernrailway.com when we have further details. We encourage any passengers whose journey is delayed by 15 minutes or more to claim Delay Repay compensation via our website.”
Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
