Coronavirus as it happened: UK death toll rises by 938 with PM 'stable' in intensive care

Boris Johnson is improving in hospital, the Chancellor said on Wednesday.
Rishi Sunak said Mr Johnson was 'sitting up in bed' and engaging with people in intensive care.
Earlier in the day No10 announced the Prime Minister was in good spirits, in a stable condition and was not using a ventilator.
The development came as the UK's death toll from coronavirus rose to 938.
