The Prime Minister has said he absolutely did not lie to the Queen about the reasons for suspending parliament.

The Prime Minister insists claims he did it to avoid MPs scrutinising Brexit are "absolutely not" true.

Opposition MPs have rounded on Boris Johnson, saying his real purpose was to stop the Commons scrutinising his Brexit plans.

Yesterday, Scotland's highest civil court ruled the PM's move was unlawful.

Yesterday Government documents setting out the possible worst-case scenario were released. The Operation Yellowhammer report said there could be long delays at ports which would lead to shortages of some food and medicines.
