Boris Johnson's threat to call EU leaders could "contradict" extension letter
22 October 2019, 18:55
Dominic Grieve said Boris Johnson calling EU leaders asking them not to delay Brexit would "undermine" the extension letter he sent on Saturday.
As MPs prepare to make momentous decisions on Brexit, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has issued a warning to the Commons.
Mr Johnson has made threats to withdraw the bill, and push for an election if politicians don't approve the timetable to debate his withdrawal agreement.
He has also said he plans to call EU leaders on Tuesday evening and ask them not to delay Brexit.
Former Conservative Attorney General Dominic Grieve said he thinks the Prime Minister calling EU leaders would contradict the letter he wrote to Brussels, requesting an extension on Saturday.
