This is the terrifyingly calm gun point robbery at a bookmakers in Wembley, which police say may be linked to another similar offence.
Police released the CCTV which shows the suspect walk into the bookmakers on Court Parade in Wembley and calmly place what appears to be a gun on the counter and demand money.
The suspect came away from the attempted robbery empty handed. It took place at around 7:40pm on Saturday 4th June.
He escaped on foot, turning left out of the store along East Lane, towards Pasture Road.
Police think the incident is linked to another offence that took place at about 2.30pm on Tuesday, 31 May at another bookmaker on College Hill Road, Harrow.
The suspect entered the store, loitered inside for some 20-30 minutes and then produced a demand note, telling the cashier to empty the drawers of money; he then made off with a quantity of cash. CCTV shows that the man had what appeared to be a firearm.
The suspect for both offences is described as a light-skinned black or Asian man, possible of mixed race and has a greying beard. He was dressed in a ‘high viz’ jacket and had dark trousers that were heavily covered in paint. He also wore a distinctive blue and white striped woolly hat.
Detective Constable John Richards said: "In a short period of time this man has committed two offences while carrying a gun. We urgently want to find him and I would appeal to anyone who recognises him to contact police immediately. This man should not be approached; for an immediate sighting of him dial 999."
