Taylor Swift has donated $5million to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts.

Feeding America have said they are "incredibly grateful" for the donation and that it will be used to help communities "rebuild and recover".

The charity added funds will be used to provide essential food, clean water and supplies to people affected by the storms.

The music megastar is due to perform three shows next week in Miami in the final leg of her Eras Tour.

The Nashville country singer has made huge previous donations to relief efforts following natural disasters - including $1million following tornadoes in her home state of Tennessee.

Millions of people in Florida are preparing for possibly one of the worst storms in 100 years.

Tornadoes have been spotted across Florida as it prepares for the Category 4 hurricane to make landfall - along with winds of up to 165mph.

Nearly 6 million people are under mandatory evacuation orders.

Earlier, President Joe Biden said evacuating before the storm arrived was a matter of "life and death".

The governor of Florida's warned Hurricane Milton is going to "pack a major, major punch" as it approaches landfall.

Ron DeSantis has warned the  storm will do "an awful lot of damage" - as millions of residents leave their homes.

The storm is currently a category 3 - the third-highest level - with winds of 130mph (209km/h) around the eyewall.

Milton has already spawned tornadoes ahead of its arrival - one twister crossed Interstate 75, without causing any injuries.
