The 17-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed in Chingford on Easter Monday has been named by police as Chima Osuji.

Police were called at 21.21hrs on Monday, April 10, to reports of a stabbing on Longshaw Road.

Despite the efforts of emergency services and members of the public, Chima died at the scene.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Two other teenage boys had previously been arrested.

One of Chima's friends paid tribute to the teenager, telling MyLondon he was "one of the most kind hearted people I knew".

"He had no problem with anyone," they said. "He would do his own thing and mind his own business.

"He loved going out and being with his friends, nothing ever violent. It's a shock isn't it. We found out on the news and Snapchat, all I saw was that he was stabbed."

Detective Chief Inspector Larry Smith, from the Met's Specialist Crime Command, previously said the investigation was "continuing at pace" urged anyone with information to come forward.

"This incident has had a devastating impact on the victim's friends and family and I'd ask for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time," he added.
