Ian Collins Takes Apart Blair/Murdoch Twitter Conspiracy Theory

Ian Collins has a lot of fun exposing the silliness behind the urban myth that Rupert Murdoch won Tony Blair three elections.
Nicholas Vinehill Tweeted Ian this:
@iancollinsuk Blair only won 3 elections for New Labour because Murdoch backed him to continue Tory policies which New Labour did!

The LBC presenter launched into a passionate attack on that theory, calling it "cobblers" and setting the record straight on the relationship between politics and the media.
"Do you actually believe that? Do you know anything about politics or journalism or how it works? There's no truth in that at all!
"The idea that Murdoch backing someone is enough to win you the election is cobblers. Not enough people read the Murdoch press for that to be the case.
"Most people don't read the newspapers. Most people don't read The Sun!
"The idea that Murdoch calls the shots? That doesn't happen at all. I promise you! Not at all.
"I know it, for a bona fide fact...but it's a nice urban myth."
