“Oh come on!” Emily Thornberry really doesn’t like Ian Payne’s question about how unified the Labour party is.
Ian Payne asked the shadow foreign secretary what her views were on the 38% of Labour members who voted for challenger Owen Smith.
This prompted a big response from Thornberry who rolled her eyes and declared “oh come on!”
“So we are a party of 600,000, if 99% of the party were to vote for Jeremy Corbyn, you guys in the media would be saying, oh its one percent that voted against Corbyn, you can’t be united.”
“Sixty percent is a decisive decision and you go with the majority,” she said.
