Health Secretary Sajid Javid updates MPs on new coronavirus variant | Watch Live
A total of 11 cases of the Covid-19 variant have been confirmed in the UK - take a look back over all of Monday's developments here.
The Scottish government confirmed on Monday that six cases of Omicron had been detected, as health secretary Sajid Javid is expected to make an announcement on expanding the booster programme.
Meanwhile, Mr Javid announced five cases have been confirmed in England, taking the UK total to 11.
The Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says those involved in Scotland hadn't been travelling.
The strain was first identified in South Africa but has been found around the world in the five days since its discovery on Wednesday.
Now, it has been announced that all adults should be offered a third Covid vaccine dose to build up protection, and all youngsters aged 12-15 should be offered a follow-up dose three months after their first one.
