Watch the dramatic moment arsonists set fire to a Mercedes in a targeted attack causing CCTV cameras to white-out with the intensity of the flames.
Police have released footage showing the moment arsonists targeted a car on Barton Close, in Wallsend, Northumbria.
Detectives investigating the arson attack have appealed for help identifying two men shown in the footage.
The attack took place shortly before 10pm on Friday, December 20, and shows two men pouring an unknown substance on the car before setting it alight.
The fire was put out by the Fire Service and nobody was injured.
Officers are now asked the public for help and are want anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to get in touch with them.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Steven Hakin, of Northumbria Police, said: “This incident could have been so much worse and we need to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
“If you can help then we urge you to get in touch, the smallest detail could help officers.”
