Police hunt gang after two hour robbery spree hospitalises five victims

A gang is being hunted after a two-hour robbery spree in Manchester city centre that left five victims needing hospital treatment.
The city's Northern Quarter saw seven attacks carried out between 2am and 4am on Sunday morning, with a range of victims aged between 20 and 60 attacked by a gang of three men.
Officers said the men approached victims before assaulting them and stealing their personal possessions snatched.
Five of those attacked went to hospital with their injuries.
The trio of thugs detectives are searching for are described as being approximately aged between 20 and 40.
Coun Pat Karney, Manchester council's city centre spokesman, said: "These thugs need tracking down and brought to justice.
"It's disgraceful that residents and visitors can't be safe at night in Manchester."
Detective Sergeant Kat McKeown of Greater Manchester Police said: "This was a series of violent robberies during which victims have been set upon by three men intent on causing them harm.
"l'd like to assure the public that we're currently working to identify those responsible and I'd ask that anyone with information contact police.
"We wish those who remain in hospital a speedy recovery from their injuries."
