Man, 40, in critical condition after being shot in head in Whitechapel

A 40-year-old man is in a critical condition after he was shot in the head in east London.
The man was found with a head wound in Nelson St, Whitechapel, on Tuesday night.
Detectives are investigating the incident as attempted murder.
The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "The injury to the victim's head is strongly suspected to be the result of a bullet wound and his condition is described as critical."
His family have been told. No arrests have been made.
