Man jailed for life for brutal gang killing of Jaden Moodie, 14 in east London

A man has been jailed for life with a minimum of 21 years for the "barbaric" gang murder of teenager Jaden Moodie on a street in London.
Ayoub Majdouline, 19, from Wembley, north London, was found guilty at the Old Bailey last week and was sentenced today for murdering Jaden, 14, in a gang turf clash. Jaden was rammed off a moped before being hacked to death in a street in Leyton, east London, on January 8.
Jaden is the youngest person to be stabbed to death as a victim of gang crime in London in 2019.
The 14-year old was dealing drugs for a rival gang in east London when he was pursued by a car and knocked off his moped by a stolen Mercedes before being stabbed to death.
Jaden suffered nine stab wounds and bled to death in the road as the car sped away, the court heard.
The attack in Leyton was captured on CCTV and shown at the trial.
Majdouline, who was seen on CCTV at a Travelodge in Walthamstow on the day before the attack, denied murder and possession of a knife.
Majdouline had a troubled upbringing in Leyton and had turned to drug dealing for older boys to make money, the court heard.
His father died in 2015, so the teenager went to live with an aunt and later went into foster care.
Majdouline was identified by the National Crime Agency in 2018 as a victim of "modern slavery", amid concerns of exploitation by older youths.
Jaden had been found with crack cocaine at an address in Bournemouth the previous month, jurors were told.
