Maajid’s wife was breastfeeding their baby on a bus when an older woman screamed at her 'put your breast away, that’s disgusting'. He feels strongly women should never be shamed for doing so.
Bus passengers were divided in its support for his wife and he has been asking “what is so wrong with breastfeeding in public?”
“People should never be shamed for breastfeeding in public” he said on his LBC show and he made clear the law protects breastfeeding mothers.
He was discussing the issue after a picture of the Kyrgyz president's youngest daughter feeding her baby dressed in her underwear has sparked a debate about breastfeeding and sexualisation.
