“I Don’t Care If We Starve, At Least We’ll Be Free From The EU”

This is the staggering text message sent to LBC from a Brexiteer which left James O’Brien in absolute astonishment.
“Hi James, people wanted to feel English, it’s a feeling, people don’t care if we go down starving, at least we’ll be free, free from being told what to do by [the] EU,” the anonymous text message read.
At first the LBC presenter contemplated whether or not it was a joke, but then soon noted: “This is an awful thing to say, but if it was a mickey take the spelling would be better”.
The text was in response to Sir Vince Cable, the former Business Minister, who said he’s “beginning to think Brexit may never happen” - because he predicts Britain will land a very bad deal.
“How do you explain that to Vince Cable?” James continued.
“An evidence based politician, how do you explain to him? This fella really doesn’t care if he goes down starving at least he’ll be free?”
