Work Placements
LBC 97.3 offers work placements but being that we are a London-based talk radio station we advise you to plan ahead. We are often booked up many months in advance. We can offer two types of placement. One based in the newsroom where you will focus on broadcast journalism. The second in the programming area where you will gain experience as a producer (news topics). There are certain criteria we ask you to satisfy:
- you must commit to 2 weeks min (uninterrupted) working Mon-Fri
- you must be engaged in either a formal journalism or media course, or planning to do one after another degree course.
You should also offer available dates or periods of the year. Again plan ahead. Selected applicants will be asked to attend a brief meeting before final confirmation of a placement. Finally feedback to our placement experience is very high. Several placements have gained employment here having made a good impression. If you gain a placement and then pull out (without good reason) you are letting both us, and your fellow students down. Be sure before you say 'yes'.
