The Metropolitan Police confirmed that twins Emmanuel and Emmanuella, who were reported missing from Lambeth on Saturday, have been found.

Police said Emmanuel and Emmanuella had been playing in the front garden of their home in Cowley Road, in Lambeth, at 6pm on Saturday.

A relative who had gone to check on the twins at about 7pm discovered they were no longer in the garden.

Police were alerted and searched the area with the assistance of the National Police Air Service.

Family and a number of local people also assisted with the search.

The force announced that they had been found around midnight.

"We're pleased to confirm that they have now been found," Lambeth Police said in a statement just after midnight on Saturday.

"We would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance."
